Ekstatik (Introduced: 2020)
At the top end of Linn performance lies our flagship, all-new MC cartridge Ekstatik. The most expensive in our range, it combines the latest in microlinear technology with an ultra-sensitive, fixed nude stylus. It is the ultimate expression of Linn’s ‘Full Integrated’ design philosophy and reflects the company’s commitment to creating audiophile-grade turntables.
There are two options available, the Ekstatik MM with a Cirkus bearing or the Ekstatik MC with a Keel subchassis.
Kendo (Introduced: 2020)
For those who already have a Linn Sondek LP12 and are in need of some extra performance, our eager apprentice Kendo is an excellent upgrade option. Its boron stylus is a perfect match for the Arko tonearm, and its nickel-coated 7075-grade aluminium body, which has been specially crafted to match the specific grade of aluminium used on the Arko, facilitates superb material synergy throughout the tonearm system.

The Kendo can be fitted to any Sondek LP12 or retrofitted as an upgrade to existing owners of Arko and legacy Linn cartridges. The sonic leap it makes is simply staggering.
Krane (Introduced: 2020)
A static-balanced tonearm, the Krane is an upgrade option for Sondek LP12s with earlier Pro-Ject or Jelco-made tonearms. With a laser etched scale for accurate and repeatable VTA adjustment, and an adjustable headshell design for effective length, Krane offers easy, repeatable setup without the need for complex alignment procedures.
Another upgrade for the Sondek LP12 is Karousel, a single point bearing replacement that is now fitted as standard to all new LP12s. Its substantial lock-nut fastening increases rigidity at the critical point where bearing and sub-chassis come together, and forum users have reported a huge improvement in sound quality with this addition to their systems.
It’s always a good idea to add some Linn upgrades when you purchase your turntable or, if you are thinking about upgrading an existing one, to make sure that you are getting the best possible experience for the money.
The LP12’s subchassis is one of its weak points, and so there is a great deal of interest in ensuring that it is not subjected to any unnecessary vibrations while it’s being used as part of an audio system. In particular, it’s well known that the Cirkus bearing can suffer from unwanted resonances in the ‘pocket’ around the flange of the bearing. The Cirkus upgrade is a great way to avoid this, but the Keel upgrade is also an attractive alternative.
